good-bye august, hello september.

i don't know about you but i'm kinda glad september is here and school has started.
i'm just looking forward to getting back on a routine that doesn't
include taking 3 kids with me where ever i go.
imagine, taking 3 kids to your pre-natal appointment .. yeah, that doesn't even sound like fun in your head, right? right.
it sounds bad, but i'm sure that by now my kids are pretty sick of being around me.
but they have to deal with me because i birthed each one of them....baaahaaahaha!

so here is a small little peak of our August via pictures.
all are phone pictures.
what with all these camera pictures, one would never know
that i actually DO have a 'real' camera.
like one of those big-girl dslr cameras. sheesh.

1. i can eat this sandwich all day long. and the more peppercini's and pickles in it, the better. yummers.
2. a meal to a friend who just had a baby. i made it all look pretty in hopes that all the prettiness will distract the family from my mediocre cooking skills.
3. is it wrong to covet my daughters shoes? target, after summer sale. $6. score.
4. put on my cape (ahem, shirt) - wonder mom is in the house.
5. i had a horrible horrible 5 day headache. my little girl was trying to help me ♥
6. it's getting harder to cover up the tummy.
7. updating kids journals. i'm trying really, really hard to keep up
8. soon this little girl will have her own big girl bed {tear}
9. happy birthday my dear friend - you are awesome ♥

1. my version of coffee. called barely-there-coffee. some real good stuff right there.
2. we hit 21 weeks this month! woot woot!
3. his little companions. he takes his little lego men everywhere. and i mean everywhere. even to the bathroom. because you know, i guess lego men need to go to the bathroom too?
4. school started for us. praise the Lord in heaven.
5. at the gym. what? don't tell me you don't take pictures while you at the gym! if you're on instagram then i KNOW you do.
6. multi-tasking. watching my little girl and a friends little boy at the playground while i stretch and work out. even though you can't see them, they are somewhere up there on that play structure.
7. this little girl started pre-school. i *think* i'm a little sad.
8. back to school night. really? you expect my big booty and big belly to sit in that teeny-tiny chair? oh girl, please. not happening.
9. honey apple butter. sent to us directly from God.

1. favorite scripture. it keeps me going.
2. a new bible study i just started. it's intense.
3. backyard camping.. for the record, i did not sleep outside.
4. friends who make this little boy blush because they treat him all special-like. his dimples
only show up when he is extra extra happy.

ok, now tell me, for reals.. are you the slightest bit ready for your kids to
go back to school?
or for this tiresome heat to just go away?

have a wonderful weekend!

you know it's a good day when...

{the good day was Wednesday. not today, Thursday. definitely not today. just wanted to clarify}

you feel the need to wear red lipstick.
and it was a red lipstick kind of day for sure.
one where you feel in perfect harmony with your Maker,
and you clearly see all the blessings he's bestowed upon you.
i don't get very many days like this, so when i do, i break out the $1.72 red lipstick.

a complete stranger comments on how well behaved your kids are
{while sitting inside a very quiet waiting room}.
i felt as if i had won a trophy and i wanted to kiss her cheek
and say "thank you thank you thank you. you just totally made my day!"
thank you dear perfect stranger, for reminding me of the value of a sincere, kind comment.

your little boy tells you that his day out with dad at a baseball game was "the best day ever".
{note to husband - your baseball game idea was genius, he loved it.
you are now, officially, the cool parent.
and cool parents do laundry and wash dishes and mop. so get to it, honey.}

your morning quiet time rocks your world.
verses that bring peace and comfort to a heart that's
been anxious and worried and fearful.

you get to a hug a friend. and you love her even more for being who she is.

Hobby Lobby has the most perfect material and it was on sale.
this just about makes a red-lipstick-wearing-girl want to break out in dance right then and there.
Hobby Lobby, you rock.
and you play Jesus music in your stores. us Jesus loving people love that.
thank you very much.

hope you have a wonderful weekend!
and if you can, find a perfect stranger and say something nice.
especially if it's a mother with a boatload of kids :)

friday photo dump {instagram}

hi, my name is flor and i'm an instagram addict.
it didn't take long to become one but once you've done it, you pretty much will never go
back to your normal camera phone.

here's a peek at our week:

grilled turkey and avocado sandwich.
i know what you're thinking.. it looks a little burnt right?
that's kind of how i like my food. it drives my husband crazy but i tend to overcook
most of everything.
which also explains why i'm not the greatest of cooks.

*********

spring sunshine, how we love you.
we miss you and want you to stick around for a while.
and please tell your sisters rain and wind to stay away.

********

seriously, dude you need a haircut.
but who cares about the hair, i see that cute dimple peeking through.

********

so cute... in a scruffy kinda of way.

*********

she's taking my picture and telling me to say cheese.
i don't think her dad knew she was using his iphone.

**********

we are kinda like real farmers.. well not really.
a veggie garden but no veggies yet and no soil.
it'll get there eventually. big thanks to the cute scruffy guy in photo #4 for making adding this to the homestead.

********

drink yo' water!
wow, my kitchen is extra messy.

**********

always the last person to get out the door in the morning. always.
i don't know what it is about her.. it's like she forgets she's suppose to go to school
every morning..i don't get it.

*******

my view this afternoon.
molly, my fern, is taking over. i can feel her trying to reach me as i sit at my computer.
"wwwwaaaatttterrr meeeeee, plllleeeeeaasssseeee."
too busy right now molly, maybe later.

*********

and that, friends, is life over here.
burnt sandwiches, a cute scruffy guy who can make a darn good veggie garden
and a fern that is starting to freak me out.

hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
