my seester and her gift

A couple weeks ago I went to my sisters house to go have dinner there.
I love it when other people want to feed my family...
she understands my cooking frustrations and helps me out all the time
by cooking for me.
We love her.

On a side note: she actually wants to hang out with my children.
She will call me about every week or so and order tell me to drop off the kids at her house {usually a Saturday} because she misses them.
Can you believe that??
I've scored big time in the sister department I tell you {thank you God}

Well, as soon as I walked into her house,
I had to stop for a moment to pick my jaw from the floor and take in what she had done.

She loves Halloween.
Can ya' tell?

She hadn't arrived yet so I was able to take some pictures...

God has certainly blessed my sister with the decorators touch.
I, unfortunately, am not as blessed in that department..and that's ok because I know that when I need her help
she is always available.

She is so generous with her time, her resources and her gift.

Because, friends, she's got a gift.
A gift for making people feel at home
for making people feel special..
for making a person feel loved
for making you feel as if you are her priority
and she makes you feel like you are the funniest person in the entire world
{even though you know you actually aren't}.

She loves her family and is completely devoted to them.
She throws a Halloween party every year.. with food, candy, a haunted maze
and games for family and friends.

{picture of my oldest daughter when she was about 2 years old}

She doesn't get anything in return.. but we, as her guests..
get to reap the benefits of her generosity.
She creates an inviting and comfortable environment for our family to
get together and chat,
to eat,
to play Taboo, spoons or any other of the 100 games that she has,
to laugh together
and to catch up with one another.

It's just one of the many things she does for us
and I don't even think she realizes it.
That's how awesome she is.

And if you think she's gone all out for Halloween
you should see her at Christmas..
It's a beautiful sight :)

Love this! As one of three seestars I guess I am the creative one so I really go to town (one has a second career as a singer, the other is a Hospice director). It's lovely you have her in your life. BTW, we started using the term seestars after a good book back in the seventies. Lol!

"A gift for making people feel at home"

I love this gift in people. I think my husband and sons do this so well. I follow their lead! :)
