around here.

Life around here this week:

Nap time - I think she's trying to give them up because she fights me every.single.time.
{Don't even think about it, girlfriend.. naps are required till you're at least 5 yrs old}

Coffee or Tea? I ask myself that every morning. And it usually depends on how late I went to sleep the previous night.
Coffee usually wins :)

One of the benefits of our little babies growing up - they get to help out around the house.
At 3 years old, this little girl has one one job.. to put away the spoons and forks from the dishwasher.
Bless her heart.. she loves her job and does it with such enthusiasm.
It takes her about 30 minutes to finish her job and I usually end up fixing it at the end..
but it's all about being a good helper, isn't it?

I'm hoping she can start vacuuming my floors pretty soon.
And if I can get another kid to do laundry that would be extra cool.

These little lizards are all over the place around here.
They gross me out... but the kids will spend at least 30 minutes looking for them and chasing them around..
I can get a lot done in 30 minutes so I actually don't mind these little gross things.. so long as they don't come into my house.
just looking at this picture gives me the heebie-jeebies.

An impromptu birthday party for a friend.
Happy birthday, my friend. You are so loved.

There are simply no words to describe the feeling of watching a sibling helping out another sibling.
There was no reward and she wasn't asked to help him..and she did it anyways.
It was 5 o'clock {you know how I dread that time of the day}, I had just started making dinner and homework
hadn't been done yet.. to say that I was stressing out is putting it lightly.

He knew exactly what was needed at that exact moment. And she was needed.

Turkey burgers for dinner today.. and I made them using my sisters recipe.
One comment: raw meat just does not look appetizing.
Now I know why I don't use alot of ground meat..
but the kids loved 'em and that's all that matters.

southwest salad, fries and turkey burgers

I am not a morning person {no surprise there}..
so as soon as my feet hit the floor I'm up and going and I don't stop till the kids go down to sleep.
It makes for really long days...
but this week I told myself that I would just take a couple of minutes outside in the morning and just read
my devotional for a bit.
It's been wonderful..
I have the kids stay inside and leave the screen door open
{believe me, even if I closed all the doors I would still be able to hear them}
and just go outside and try to mentally prepare for my day.
It's been so nice.

Hoping you have a wonderful weekend where ever you may be! :)

When my youngest out grew naps I still had her go in her room for "rest" time for 30-45 minutes. This was more for me, not her.
That was cute big sister helping! Those are some of the best moments ever!!

I have to have that time with God in the morning before my game face comes on. Combined with coffee and we have a winning combo! :)

My daughter quit napping at just before 3!! I know crazy...she did really well and the bonus she went to bed a whole hour earlier ;) Now we have rest/movie time while my son naps and that is when I get all my work done for my shop/ blog/ check email and so on. I also do a little reading blogs in the morning during breakfast :)

Baby has been fighting naps, too. We are going on three days straight without one and seriously I'm going to pull my hairs out. I have been so used to a certain schedule that I've had to rearrange and plan things different..plus now I can REALLY say I'm exhausted! But isn't that what we do as moms..oh well no regrets. I rather have it that way :) Maybe, like you, I should get into the habit of a good read in the mornings instead of the nights, then maybe I would't be so grumpy throughout the day :)
You too have a great weekend!

Flor,
Your pics are amazing! I just read your "about me" and learned that you're taking an on-line photog course? Would love to know if you're enjoying it - you've obviously learned a ton.
So enjoyed this little post.

Love all of these pictures - they are so beautiful!! I wish my kids napped until they were 5... naps seem like a very distant memory! I love seeing siblings helping each other out - nothing warms the heart more!! xox

I just became your newest follower! I'd love for you to check out my blog & follow back if you'd like. :)

Oh dear. We have naptime battles, too. And bedtime battles. Daily pretty much. They are terrible, but the rest is worth it!
(Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog, btw)

My hubby bought me a “Shark” vacuum for my b-day (romantic - I know, right?), but the kids can use it and they actually FIGHT about it! I just went out and bought a “Shark” steamer mop for them to use! I know, the angels sang over here too! Maybe you can put them on your Christmas list and get your littles to love them like mine! XoXo friend!

Your devotional time looks so peaceful and inviting! :)

I do ok with lizards, it's the snakes that give me the heebie jeebies!! We will NEVER have a snake pet!! :)
